As an athlete I know how hard it is to overcome different difficulties. One difficulty that I never had to face is not being able to use my own two legs. Great athletes are able to overcome any adversity in their lives. Using prostheses helps the people with disabilities to overcome all of the things that they are unable to do.
The people that are able to use prostheses don’t have an advantage against anyone else; all that it does is even the playing field. Some people are able to lift heavy weights and run super fast on their own, but to overcome a disability is something that I have never seen anyone do.
People that are able to overcome their difficulties in their life should be praised and not questioned over their ways of overcoming that difficulty. The disability that was handed to these people is honestly a gift. It makes them stronger and it should not make them weaker or make their accomplishments any less important or amazing.
Others that use the surgeries and the advantages that they can get from technology are trying to get themselves and edge in the competition. Tiger Woods had Lasik surgery done to give him better vision. That is something that is an advantage in his sport over others. There is no reason that in that sport that he would absolutely need that.
Honestly I believe that people that have disabilities should have the same rights and privileges as we as people do. They have to work twice as hard for things that just come naturally to others. I believe that Remanufacturing Athletes should be praised and not questioned.
